Vineyard Crew Chief & Vineyard Crew Members (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

An ultra-premium 25 acre estate winery in Penticton, British Columbia is seeking a dedicated vineyard crew with a crew chief to join our team. We are looking for people with extensive experience focused on attention to detail, willing to work under the advisement of our vineyard consultant and vineyard manager to achieve the highest quality results.

Our previous crew worked with us exclusively for 10 years and were a part of our vineyard family. We were sad to see them retire but are looking forward to adding new and dedicated members to our team. 

Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience.  Interviews will be held in the upcoming weeks.  

 

ROLES NEEDED

Crew Chief (1 person needed):

This person will be responsible for managing the vineyard crew schedules and ensuring staffing needs are met throughout the year. They will function as a liaison to our Vineyard Manager and Vineyard Consultant in addition to performing the duties of a Vineyard Crew Member, as outlined below.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of hands-on vineyard experience at a vineyard producing premium quality fruit
  • Competency in safe operation of vineyard equipment, pruning, canopy management, disease/pest control, harvesting and irrigation management. 
  • Successful experience in delivery of hands-on training for workers.

Vineyard Crew Member (Approximately 4 persons needed):

  • Prunes, ties and trains grape vines
  • Installs and maintains trellises/supports
  • Assists with the harvest of grapes
  • Ensures that work and common areas, including vineyard vehicles are clean, secure and well maintained
  • Ensures that all equipment and machinery are well maintained and in safe operating condition

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on vineyard experience at a vineyard producing premium quality fruit
  • Competency in safe operation of vineyard equipment, pruning, canopy management and harvesting. 

Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience.
