Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of an exciting team in a new and expanding winery? Trail Estate Winery is looking to complete our team for Vintage 2015. As a small batch, quality-focused winery, you'll get to experience it all – a full range of winemaking from grape to bottle (but not in that order). Work will be primarily focused in the retail store and vineyard during the summer, and the winery in the fall.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
Retail sales: extending courteous and efficient customer service, assist with performing opening/closing procedures, ensure store is well stocked and visually appealing, assist with various marketing activities (not limited to by-the-glass serving, structured tastings, event planning and coordinating, etc.)
Vineyard: thinning, canopy management, trellising, sampling, suckering, planting, harvesting
Winery/Cellar: inoculations, brix/temp monitoring, punch downs, tank cleaning, lab work, grape processing, filtration, pump operation, press operation, and lots of tasting
- Must be flexible and available to work weekends and statutory holidays
- This position requires moderate strength, organizational ability as well as great people skills
- Must have a valid Ontario Smart Serve certificate
- Must be able to legally work in Canada
Ideal for co-op student, summer student or those seeking to add to their winery and vineyard experience. Our winery is located in beautiful Prince Edward County, so you will live here for the summer and/or fall (approx. July to Nov/Dec). Help with accommodation may be provided.
