Primary responsibility is to support and assist Hospitality Manager in overseeing the retail team and ensuring that all guests are provided an excellent service experience within the parameters of store policies and procedures. Incumbent is also responsible for assisting in building a ‘team spirit’ where all members feel welcome and inspired to have a positive attitude.
1. Opening store includes the following duties:
*check cash and do daily deposit
*ensure that all closing duties were done day prior and store fully stocked
*check calendar for events and schedule
*check and rotate cheese stock for daily tastings
*greet and direct staff as they arrive for shift
*check that all set-up has been done in store
*ensure tour route safe, clean and open for the day
*ensure music is set for the day and monitored throughout
*ensure that parking lot and entrance are safe and welcoming
2. During shift:
*Designate staff duties including restocking, washroom checks and packaging.
*greet visitors or buses and help direct them to appropriate area if possible
*direct staff in taking lunches
*ensure that all duties are being performed to level expected
*enforce store policies – provide guidance as needed
*assist in store as needed
*diffuse any difficult situations with staff or customer relations
*take care of any scheduled or drop-in wedding tasting
*check messages throughout the day and return those urgent
3. End of Shift:
*Count all tills 15 minutes after closing
*Ensure that all staff has adequately completed closing duties-lights off, doors closed and locked
*Ensure that all back doors and production are locked
*Ensure that front door is locked and building empty upon exiting
4. General assistance:
*Assist in training of new retail store staff
* Provide input and feedback into the development of new policies, programs & specials
*Assist in change over of store displays
*Attend off-site events and corporate tastings as required
*Receive retail accessories and sign off on received stock
*Participate in second interviews with potential retail employees
* St. John’s Ambulance representative and retail accident reports
*General duties as requested
