The Marketing Manager is responsible to provide marketing strategies for brands and implementation utilities for all products and promotions and to lead and implement marketing strategies for company brands in a way that ensures continued profitable sales growth and aligns with the strategic goals of the company.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Marketing Management:
- Develops annual marketing plan with Market Director along with input from sales magement
- Analyzes market positioning and competitive activity/positioning for all brands and sets appropriate targets
- Analyzes effectiveness of marketing programs and reports to the management team on results and recommendations for future marketing plans
- Presents annual marketing plans to each supplier; liaises between each supplier and the company on day to day correspondence and marketing programs detail
- Evaluates marketing opportunities as they arise and makes recommendations to suppliers on events or initiatives that will enhance their brand profile and increase sales
- Fosters relationships between industry journalists and company brands; develops and maintains relationship with press; monitors and distributes press clippings
- Manages and maintains all provincial supplier budgets and spends
- Works closely with and supervises the Marketing Coordinator in timely completion of administrative tasks for all marketing programs
- Develops and manages the creation of marketing and promotional materials (such as shelf talkers, neck-tags, feature cards for restaurants, case cards), including the timely production of short run print materials, sales brochures and technical information sheets and provincial price lists

- Key internal interactions: President, Controller, Accounting, Sales Managers and Reps, Inventory and Office Manager
- Key internal interactions: President, Controller, Accounting, Sales Managers and Reps, Inventory and Office Manager
- External interactions: suppliers and key accounts, provincial sub-agents, special events contacts, industry contacts, liquor board staff
The Person:
Skills & Knowledge
- Post-secondary education, preferably in marketing, business administration, or related field
- Proven experience in successful marketing management in finished goods; preferably in consumer goods, retail.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Genuine interest in wine
- Acquired understanding of cross cultural differences in business
- Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing
Compensation commensurate with skill-set and experience.
