TASTING ROOM JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Responsibilities/Duties:
§ Welcome guests; providing them with an warm friendly tasting experience
§ Pour and describe the wines use recommendations from our tasting notes
§ Conduct tours and be knowledgeable of our winemaking philosophy
§ Assisting customers with wine purchases at every level and interest
§ Assisting current wine club members, and enrolling new members
§ Stocking and merchandising shelves
§ Open and Closing duties, conduct sales transactions, collect payment and operate our POS system
§ Accurately maintain inventories
§ Maintaining the cleanliness of hospitality areas including the wine shop, grounds, and tasting areas.
§ Ensure the store shelves are well stocked up and are visually appealing / tidy to customers
§ Collect glasses, sanitize and make sure they are clean and polished
§ Representing the winery at periodic off-site events/farmers markets
§ Preparing, boxing, packaging and shipping orders
§ Assisting with special events if required
§
Required Qualifications:
§ Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
§ Basic knowledge of wine or a keen interest in wine
§ Ability to work in a team and independently
§ Serving it Right Certificate
§ At least 19 years of age
§ Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job. These include but are not limited to: 1) lifting up to 50lbs while navigating stairs or equipment, 2) standing for extended periods of time
