Tasting Room Salesperson (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Domaine Queylus is a new winery that is focused on crafting premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Niagara region. We also make a small amount of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. We are looking for someone with high energy and flexible availability with respect to work schedule (weekdays/weekends). Your local knowledge, excellent personal presentation, interpersonal skills and love of wine make you perfect for this position. You are professional and manage all customer inquiries completely, appropriately and in a consistently positive, professional and enthusiastic manner. The ideal candidate is bilingual (French/English).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring our guests are well looked after

  • Performing all sales and retail functions in the winery boutique

  • You help maximize revenues per customer transaction through providing educational tastings of our premium wines

  • You help sell memberships to our Wine Club and coordinate shipments to Wine Club Members

  • Maintaining our inventory process and following retail procedures such as receiving, ordering, and stocking

  •  Ensuring Licensee orders are filled and shipped

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College or University graduate

  • Two years of retail sales experience (or experience in the tourism industry or a Customer Service background)

  • Bilingual (French and English)

  • Any formal Wine Education is appreciated, but not necessary

  • As we are a start-up operation, the ideal candidate might also have wine cellar experience and be familiar with general cellar operations such as: fruit reception, barrel washing, equipment sanitation, wine transfers and bottling.
