Established in 1980, Colio Estate Wines Inc. continues to be one of the leaders in its industry. From humble beginnings we have grown to be one of the largest wine producers in Ontario, producing in excess of 500,000 cases of quality wine annually. We have our own 200 acre vineyard in South Western Ontario that continuously provides grapes of the highest quality. Some of our award-winning brands include Bricklayer’s, Girls’ Night Out, Lake & River Series, and Colio Premium House.
We also produce awarding winning Craft Beer & Cider under our Thornbury Village Beer & Cider house banner. Our Pick-up Truck Pilsner and Blue Mountain Lager have both won gold at the Ontario Craft Brewing Awards. We also boast the top selling Ontario Craft Cider made from 100% fresh pressed Ontario apples.
We represent a range of international brands such as Warsteiner Brewery from Germany, Cumulus Estate Wines from Australia, Frisky Zebra from South Africa and a number of other international wine suppliers.
As part of our growth and continued success, we require a full time production lead hand. This position will report to the Cider Master and will coordinate and execute all production related activities.
Duties and Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Produce required beer and cider packaging requirements as per the production plan

Ensure all cider making and packaging equipment is kept clean and maintained through proper maintenance

All full goods and raw material storage areas are kept clean and organized to maintain good inventory control processes

Assist the Cider Maker in the creation of cider blends

Maintain focus on safety, quality, productivity, and cost control for all related processes

Work with the Cider House team on quality and cost improvement projects
-
Responsible for ensuring all company policies, procedures, and applicable industry policies and regulations are followed

Other duties shall be assigned as required.
Interested candidates should possess:
-
Completion of post-secondary education in Food Production/Science or Engineering related course/program or 3 to 5 years equivalent work experience.

Strong problem-solving abilities, individually and in a team setting.

Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment related issues and fix them accordingly
-
A self-starter with high energy levels and a “does what it takes” attitude.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
-
Effective organizational skills.
-
Strong inter personal skills and a Team player.
Work Conditions

Exposure to wet and or humid conditions.

Overtime and Travel as required.

Physical dexterity and stamina required to stand, bend, kneel, climb.

Good physical condition – able to perform repetitive tasks with ability to lift 50 lbs.
