Sales Representative – Toronto GTA West

 

Job Summary: 

To increase the sales and market share of the Authentic Wine & Spirits Merchants (AWSM) portfolio of brands, in their assigned area within the philosophies and style of the company. Responsible for developing and maintaining critical partnering relationships with accounts in your assigned territory.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Account Responsibilities: 

  • Call on key LCBO and On Premise accounts within the assigned territory of (GTA Toronto West ) Etobicoke / Mississauga / Brampton

  • Identify and target customers, Build and maintain product distribution within these accounts, keeping accurate records of each account.

  • Develop strong long term partnerships with LCBO and On Premise account managers with the intent to increase market share, distribution, brand image and execution of paid programming.

  • Seek and secure key sales drivers within targeted account base through effective selling, merchandising and brand activations.

  • Depending on the customer base, activities can include making sales presentations, taking product orders, coordinating promotions, developing wine and bar lists, conducting product tastings or staff training, and other related activities.   

 2.   Management/Administrative Responsibilities: 

  • Record and manage daily activities through hand held tablet.
  • Maintain accurate and current account data base through Chablis system. ( company I.T software and information system)
  • Work to maximize budgets available and manage expenses within company guidelines
  • Submit weekly planning, and daily mapping of achievements on your tablet.

 3. Other Responsibilities

  • Participation in Ontario wine shows and other events
  • Act as brand ambassador for the AWSM portfolio

Job Requirements:

Skills:

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Must be highly organized, and display excellent customer service abilities. 

  • Must be skilled at closing the sale.

  • Must demonstrate leadership, and ability to influence major accounts.

  • Will have good PC skills (Windows: Word/Excel). 

  • Must be able to juggle multiple situations, and able to work independently, against deadlines

Knowledge: 

  • Working knowledge of alcoholic beverages, with special attention to fine wines.  WSET 2 preferred.

  • Willing to learn more about the industry by up-grading wine and spirit knowledge through the completion of courses and learning programs.

Physical:

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and travel (includes overnight stays). 

  • Must be able to lift and carry 41+ pounds.

Other Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Sales experience with existing trade relationships in beverage alcohol industry and/or University degree or equivalent, is preferred.

  • You will have a demonstrated passion for wine and the beverage alcohol industry.

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s license in the Ontario.  Must have and maintain a valid Canadian Passport.

  • Must be “Smart Serve” certified.
