Based in Toronto, Ontario, Iron Gate - Private Wine Management is dedicated to providing a host of products and services uniquely designed for private wine collectors. We are searching for an experienced CELLAR MANAGER / ADMINISTRATOR to work at our facility. The person will be responsible for activities including but not limited to:
• Picking-up wine collections or donations from customers including organizing bottles, packing cases and moving to vehicle/van for transportation to storage facility
• Receiving and handling shipments from wine suppliers and wine collectors
• Doing photography, inventory, packing and put on pallets for proper storage
• Maneuvering order picker/forklift (10’ high) to put-away cases
• Handling withdrawal requests including retrieval of cases and packing for transportation
• Coordinating with couriers deliveries to customers (or may involve using own vehicle from time to time)
• Tracking movement of cases, document transactions and keep up-to-date records under each client files
• Keeping the storage facility clean and organized
It is mandatory to have:
• An ability to handle physical work: moving and lifting of cases weighing up to 30lbs; standing for extended periods of time, being able to reach, climb and bend.
• Skilled commercial order picker/forklift abilities (or willingness to be trained)
• Sound knowledge of wine ( producers, regions, varietals, etc) for inventory and cataloguing bottles
• Good verbal and communication skills in English
• A high degree of organizational skills and attention to details
• Valid Ontario driver license and own a vehicle (for pick-up/deliveries from time to time)
• A clean criminal record (background check)
• Solid personal and professional references
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
• Familiar with warehouse management for tracking case and product placement within facility, shipping/receiving and packing skills
• Good computer skills – MS Excel, Internet and email
• Judgment, problem solving and ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities
• Professional, responsible, independent and discretion
