General Job Summary: Regional Sales Manager to represent the Wagner family and their portfolio of Caymus, Conundrum, Mer Soleil, and Emmolo brands in the marketplace. Responsibilities will include the overall development and growth of the assigned sales region with a defined strategy that reflects the Wagner family philosophy. This position will develop effective and accountable relationships with key agents, Liquor Boards, and overall trade and customer base.

Reports to:  Division Manager / Canada

General Requirements:

• Supports vision and core values for the Wagner Family of Wine.

• Build trust, loyalty and confidence with the constituencies in the marketplace and colleagues with Wagner Family of Wine.

• Develop and maintain superior working relationships with agents, boards and trade.

• Motivates and stimulates agency personnel so as to ensure competent execution of WFW goals and objectives.

• Makes sound and responsible suggestions to upper management, and provides timely and accurate market information and data as warranted.

• Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively and efficiently.

• Addresses conflict in a direct, yet non-contentious manner to ensure open and constructive resolve.

• Organized, self-motivated and able to work independently.

• Ability to communicate concisely and clearly both orally and written.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement brand building strategies.

• Possess good overall product and wine industry knowledge.

• Proficient computer skills and competence in electronic communications.

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as warranted. 

Specific Responsibilities:

• Manage Agency partners and build productive relationships within all levels of sales and administrative functions within assigned agencies.

• Develop sales goals and business plans by market.

• Track all aspects of sales execution by brand and geography. 

• Monitor and maintain acceptable pricing integrity for all WFW brands. 

• Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels through assigned territory. 

• Establish and maintain strong key account relationships both on and off premise, and build and enhance relationships with various boards and monopolies. 

• Continuing interaction with, and education of, applicable agency sales forces by means of periodic sales meetings, key tastings and trade events, and key account calls.

• Maintain up to date records and keeping chargeback status current. 

Further Considerations and Requirements:

• 5+ years of industry experience preferred. 

• An ideal candidate must be bi-lingual French / English with verbal and written proficiency. 

• Candidate must have a current valid driver’s license. 

• Candidate should exhibit a passion for fine wine and a solid understanding of the luxury wine business.

• Proven track and relationships at agency, board, key account and trade is important.

• Candidate should reside in the Montreal or Ontario metropolitan areas and have Canadian citizenship.

• Ability to lift 45 lb. cases.
