Brands Director (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Reporting to the President, you will be responsible for all facets of managing your portion of the Churchill Cellars portfolio including supplier liaison and working with industry stakeholders such as the LCBO. You will develop effective brand plans and co-ordinate promotions, marketing and advertising for assigned brands while responsibly managing supplier budgets.  As part of senior management, you will also be expected to take a leadership role, be a resource for product knowledge, category information and consumer trends, and impart enthusiasm for all to the sales and administrative teams.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

1.      Planning retail programs according to LCBO IMAGE manual and according to supplier budgets.  Work with Product Manager to ensure accurate completion of application process according to deadlines.

2.      Plan and develop marketing initiatives for non-retail activities, working with Communications Director on sponsorship and event opportunities.

3.      Supervise development and production of POS materials for each market and supplier.  Support the development and production of locally produced materials when required, working with promotions department.

4.      Develop and implement media plans per supplier budgets.  Work with suppliers to ensure artwork availability and specs to needs.  Develop artwork as required.

5.      Forecast sales and expenditures based on annual plans.  Ensure boards maintain sufficient inventory levels to execute plan and accommodate sales trends.  Review quarterly forecast updates to fine-tune projections.

6.      Analyse liquor board Sale of Data for sku and brand performance relative to expectations and category trends.  Based on analysis, provide interpretation and information to suppliers, information and direction to sales team.  Identify opportunities and category weaknesses and develop action plans to capitalize on these.

7.      Strategize the planning, development, and implementation of new product introductions.

8.      Liaise with suppliers for all levels above ensuring supplier approval and acceptance where required. 

9.      Liaise with necessary personnel at LCBO to ensure the smooth implementation of plans, identify opportunities, provide and obtain information, and ensure success of brands.

10.    Supervise the day-to-day activities of the Product Manager.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Provide inspiration, enthusiasm, and leadership within the Company.

Look for new ways to improve existing procedures and systems.

Promote “Best in Class” philosophies to Churchill Cellars team.

Skills and Characteristics:

2+ years in a similar role within the beverage alcohol business.

Computer literate – working knowledge of all general business software, in particular Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook.

Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Good interpersonal skills – able to get along with fellow employees and external stakeholders.

Flexible – not easily flustered by work demands or interruptions.  Can handle multiple tasks with ease.

Self-starter.  Can work with minimal supervision.

Accurate, detail oriented, and organized.

A team player who is able take a leadership role as required.  Is prepared to work for the good of the company.

Professional and business like at all times.  Setting the standard for company performance.
