Our North American business has a solid foundation based in the US premium wine category and is seeking to grow Lion’s portfolio presence further in Canada. The North American business is integral to the success of our global markets initiatives in building premium, multi-beverage, branded businesses worldwide.
We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity as a Regional Sales Manager based in Toronto to manage our wine, beer and cider portfolio, reporting to the Managing Director, North America. This full-time role is responsible for developing the sales and marketing plans for Lion’s full portfolio in Canada and Lion’s beer portfolio in Hawaii. The role requires an experienced sales manager, with existing trade relationships in key Provinces, who will build close relationships with Sales, Marketing and Production teams across Australia, New Zealand and the USA.
This position will focus on delivering brand growth in each of the major Canadian Provinces, working with Lion’s preferred agency partners and building our core brands with the respective Liquor Boards. The development of strong relationships with key Provincial Liquor Board buyers as well as Off and On-Premise accounts is crucial to the role’s success.
Key responsibilities
Manage the execution of marketing and brand plans, maintaining pricing and brand standards
Manage marketing spend in line with brand plans and budgets
CRM system utilised for all customer and agent interaction
Accurately forecast and work with colleagues in AU, NZ and US to ensure inventory levels are effectively managed
Timely delivery of key insights and monthly reports
Work with internal stakeholders to ensure agent and customer accounts are kept in good standing
Maximize Agency partnerships to drive engagement with our brands
Build strong relationships with key Provincial Wine Buyers and accounts
Work with and support existing Lion beer distributor in Hawaii to build our beer portfolio
Provide education and training to all agency staff
Brand Ambassador for all of Lion brands
Travel across Canada, to Hawaii and to Lion sites as needed
Skills and Experience required:
Brand building and sales strategy development
Strong analytical ability
Excellent communicator
Proven negotiation and sales skills
Superior organization and time management skills
Ability to drive results and work through others
Highly proficient using Excel, MS Office applications
College graduate preferred – Business/Finance/Economics
Minimum of 10 years wine sales experience
Intimate knowledge of Canadian Provincial Liquor Boards and systems
The role will be home office based
