We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable full-time, permanent Territory Manager to represent one of the leading privately owned wine and spirits agencies in Canada. Created in 1982, Select Wine & Spirits represents key wineries from top wine producing countries and global premium spirit brands.  Suppliers include: Remy Cointreau, Patron Spirits Company, Trivento, Delicato Family Vineyards, and Sebastiani.

The company employs 90 people from coast to coast who sell and market beverage alcohol products to the various provincial Liquor Boards, private retailers and licensed on-trade establishments.

The Select Wine & Spirit Territory Manager will activate against distribution and merchandising objectives for the Consignment Program in the Toronto area. The successful candidate will achieve volume, profit, market share, consumer trial and brand equity as per sales plan(s) and develop growth opportunities within the territory.  A key measure of success will be distribution growth within targeted accounts as well as product trial and taste activations with target consumers.  The successful candidate will present winning propositions aligning to the needs of customers, capture ROI and manage budgets accordingly. The Territory Manager will report to the Ontario Sales Manager, and be accountable for a geographical region.  Knowledge of AGCO and LCBO policy is an asset to the role and working knowledge of COGNOS is of advantage. The ideal candidate will have a winning attitude and be hungry to produce top flight results.

Job Duties:

 

  • Managing territory call list to ensure excellent execution and utilization of resources
  • Responsible for sell-in and execution of marketing programs in accordance with Select Wine & Spirit Brand plans
  • Maintain and grow existing volume and distribution by building credible and long term relationships with LCBO and On Premise customers
  • Prospects, quantifies and qualifies new accounts visited for brand building activities
  • Leads product and knowledge through sales aides and training seminars
  • Leverage sales information and working relationships to Drive distribution of SWS brands in key purchasing areas within targeted accounts
  • Responsible for achieving sales objectives

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skill set:

 

  • Post-secondary degree in applicable field such as business, sales, or food and beverage
  • 1 - 3 years of industry working experience (or a combination thereof)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) required, COGNOS an asset
  • Knowledge of Liquor Board Regulations, market trends and competition
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Works well in teams, desire to compete and win, innovative thinker
  • Positive winning attitude with strong sense of urgency
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and clear driving record. Must be able to travel as necessary to be physically present at events, customer visits and meetings.
  • Flexibility for evening and weekend work hours
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position including lifting 50 lbs., ability to stand for extended periods of time as well as navigating stairs.
