ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Provincial Sales Manager (BC), the Territory Manager will primarily be responsible for selling and merchandising on behalf of the company's spirits & wine portfolio. These activities will be conducted in all assigned accounts, within the defined geographical territory.
As the customer-facing representative for the company and its portfolio, the Territory Manager will be responsible for driving distribution, negotiating in-store positioning (where possible), managing compliance to paid programming, and educating staff on key brand attributes.
Whilst the majority of focus will be on flawless execution at retail, the Territory Manager will also be responsible for driving availability, visibility, and activation for the portfolio in all assigned licensee accounts within the defined territory.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively implement the territory sales plan and corresponding sales strategies.
- Build brand awareness while ensuring strong sell-through/depletions of the company's portfolio, both through various promotional programs and the regular call cycle.
- Maximize market share in retail accounts within the geographical territory, in order to achieve provincial targets for revenue, profit and growth.
- Ensure volume, distribution, promotional, merchandising, training, and public relations activities are effectively implemented and executed.
- Operate the territory within an approved expense budget.
- Maintain and develop productive business relationships with all key customer decision-makers.
- Communicate all relevant business opportunities and competitive information on a regular and timely basis.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years’ experience in beverage alcohol, consumer packaged goods or food/beverage industry
- Excellent track record as a salesperson. Demonstrated selling skills along with product/market knowledge.
- Exceptional customer service skills; including communication, problem solving, listening and attention to detail.
- Experience and competency with Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint/ Outlook.
- Experience calling on BCLDB/LRS stores and/or independent restaurants would be considered an asset.
- ISG / WSET / CSS / CSW qualifications would be considered an asset.
