Slated to open our doors in Spring 2017, the newly renovated Monashees Liquor Store will be an unprecedented shopping experience for wine, spirit and beer connoisseurs across both the Okanagan and British Columbia. Offering over 10,000 square feet of unparalleled selection, the store will also feature a humidor room and temperature & humidity-controlled fine wines & spirits room (the "vintage room"). With a product selection that will be unparalleled in the region, our goal is to become the destination of choice for locals and visitors alike, and with that in mind, we are seeking an exceptional and promising individual to take our vintage room to the next level.
Position Overview and Responsibilities
We are looking for a charismatic, polished and high quality retail manager to join our team as Vintage Room Manager, based in Vernon, B.C. Working alongside Monashees’ General Manager, the Vintage Room Manager will be focused on cultivating an outstanding and highly sought after portfolio of fine wines and spirits, as well as developing various programs to support, promote and grow the profile of the vintage room offering and elevate the shopping experience of the vintage room’s clientele.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Nurturing the development and growth of the vintage room’s portfolio of fine wines and spirits
- Providing wine education for staff and customers alike
- Overseeing the development and implementation of events including luxury tastings, food and wine pairings, winemaker dinners, etc.
- Developing "cellar-starter" programs
- Delivering unparalleled customer service

Position Requirements
- 5+ years of fine wine / rare spirit trade or retail sales experience
- Sommelier certification (Level 2 ISG or WSET Level 3 preferred)
- Food and beverage experience in a fine dining environment an asset
- Flexible schedule
- Current Serving It Right certification

Salary will be competitive within industry and commensurate with level of experience. This will be enhanced by additional benefits, including travel and a monthly wine budget.
