Overview: 
The Assistant Retail Manager leads the day to day operations of the Victoria Artisan Wine Shop and supports the Retail Store Manager in supervising staff and completing administrative duties. They will deliver excellent customer service to all Artisan Wine Shop customers, upselling wine and accessory portfolios in the store. We provide a great learning opportunity for those interested in joining the wine industry. We have a great training program that will broaden anyone's love and knowledge for wine. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Sales Responsibilities: 
• Drive and collaborate with retail sales team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals 
• Educate consumers on company wines and wine accessories 
• Build customer traffic through promoting product sales and special events 

Leadership and Team Responsibilities: 
• Coach and mentor sales associates to improve their selling techniques and knowledge 
• Assume store manager duties in his/her absence 
• Contribute to and build staff morale 

Administrative and Budgeting Tasks: 
• Work with Retail Manager to control expenses for optimum profit and resource maximization 
• Provide support in the day-to-day operation of the store as needed 
• Educate staff and ensure staff follow up in proper loss prevention practices 
• Ensure and take an active role in proper storage and presentation of stock 

Minimum Requirements: 
• 2-3 years of retail experience required 
• 1 year of supervisory experience required 
• Driver license is an asset. 
• Strong Retail background. Food & Beverage knowledge an asset. 
• Passionate in providing exceptional customer service. 
• Coach and mentor in an effective and professional manner. 
• Flexible, Creative and able to work an irregular schedule (including weekends). 
• Able to multi task and work efficiently. 
• Wine enthusiast, formal Wine Knowledge training an asset but not required.
