Tawse Winery is Canada’s Winery of the Year (2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016). We produce certified Bio-dynamic and Organic wines from over 200 acres of premium Niagara vineyards. Our portfolio includes a large traditional method sparkling wine program, world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, as well as Riesling and Cabernet Franc. As part of our production team, you will also work with wines from our sister winery Redstone. Our production also includes cider and many other exciting new projects. We produce approximately 40,000 cases of product each year.
We are currently looking for highly motivated and hard working Cellar Hands for the 2017 harvest. The work term will be 8-12 weeks from September 2017, with potential for an extended work term.
The role includes all aspects of winemaking and is very hands on. You may be involved in fruit receival, sorting, pump overs/punch downs, fermentation monitoring, pressing, barrel work, winery sanitation, as well as other winery related jobs.
Required:
Previous vintage experience
Exceptional attention to detail
Able to work in a dynamic fast paced team environment
Ability to problem solve
Communicate with supervisors and others
Strong adherence to safety and operational procedures
Able to lift 20kg
Willing and able to work extended hours, any day of the week
Must be a Canadian Citizen - or - have residency status - or -
Must have a valid ‘Working Holiday Visa’ for Canada.
No Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) will be under taken.

Assets:
University or College Degree in Oenology and Viticulture
Forklift experience
Full drivers licence and clean driving record
Comfortable driving Light Trucks (up to 11,000kg)
