Megalomaniac Winery is looking to hire enthusiastic and hardworking cellar staff for the 2017 vintage. We are focussed on making top quality wines from our 70 acre vineyard on the Twenty Mile Bench as well as from dedicated growers in the region. This is an opportunity to work with many different wine styles and varieties. We produce sparkling and still wines from Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Chard Musque, Savagnin, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Gamay, Cab Franc and Cab Sauv. We are expecting to process 200t at Megalomaniac this coming vintage.

The role, which will last from late August to December, includes all aspects of winemaking and is very hands on. You may be involved in fruit receival, sorting, pump overs/punch downs, fermentation monitoring, pressing, barrel work, winery sanitation, as well as other winery and vineyard related jobs.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Graduate or current student in a wine and viticulture program
  • Previous vintage experience an asset
  • Able to work in a dynamic fast paced team environment
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to work in a small team
  • Communicate with supervisors and others
  • Strong adherence to safety and operational procedures
  • Understand the basics of premium wine production
  • Substantial attention to detail required
  • Able to lift 22kg
  • Willing to work extended hours, any day of the week
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
