Assistant Winemaker (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Rosehall Run seeks an energetic and motivated individual to assist the Owner and Head Winemaker, in maintaining high-quality winemaking in Prince Edward County. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a passion for quality-oriented viticulture and winemaking possessing a degree or diploma in Oenology and Viticulture or minimum three years experience in cellar operations including Harvest and Crush.

Responsibilities:

Organize and complete day to day cellar and winemaking activities including blending, stabilization, topping, filtration, barrel maintenance, ingredient additions, pump overs, filtering and fining, cleaning, filling and topping barrels, transferring/racking preparing for bottlings

·         Routine lab analysis and documentation of all cellar activities including  additions, blending, and bottling

·         Supervision and documentation of harvest activities including crushing, destemming, fermentation and wine treatments

·         Winemaking records and reporting for SETGO, VQA and other government agencies

·         Maintaining all bulk and bottled inventory for the winery and outside warehouses

·         Maintaining inventory of all winemaking supplies and bottling needs

·         Sanitation of tanks, barrels, and equipment and general cleaning and maintenance of all winery facilities

·         Regular checks on all equipment and reporting on any required repairs, replacement or augmentation of equipment and equipment preparedness for crush

·         Knowledge and supervision of workplace safety in the winery and vineyard

 

 

 

This is a full-time year round position with variable work hours including weekends. Salary is commensurate with experience.
