Winery Retail Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Rosehall Run is one of Prince Edward County’s leading wineries. Established in 2001 by Winemaker Dan Sullivan and his partner Lynn Sullivan, Rosehall Run has garnered international critical acclaim and is one of The County’s top tourism destinations. Employees at Rosehall Run work as a team and contribute to every aspect of the grape growing/wine production/promotion and sales of our wine.

We are currently seeking an experienced Winery Retail Manager to lead a team that delivers exemplary customer service and visitor experience and meets sales expectations and goals for the retail channel.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Working with management to set monthly sales targets and monitor results
  • Purchasing Retail and Promotional related material; tracking expenditures within budget
  • Recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision and evaluation of part-time sales staff
  • Cultivating customer relationships onsite, online and by telephone including group sales and tour groups
  • Wine knowledge, presentation and education for staff and customers
  • Sourcing unique locally produced retail items for the Greer Road Grocer
  • Working with onsite Food Truck Operator(s) to ensure smooth operation and customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and physical upkeep of facilities both interior and exterior

Required Experience

  • Retail or hospitality supervisory/management experience preferably in the wine industry
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in training and motivating a team
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Solid understanding of Point of Sales and inventory control systems
  • Previous experience with managing inventory, cash control and daily cash reconciliations
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs – excel, word, outlook
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Wine knowledge including ability to provide tasting notes, suggest food pairings, wine storage and cellaring
  • Smart Serve Certified
  • Must be 19 years of age or older
