We are SEEKING IMMEDIATELY, experienced Restaurant Sommeliers/Servers with excellent wine and food pairing knowledge for our client, a national leading retail restaurant group. The ideal candidate has experience in restaurants with a strong focus in wine, and is looking to develop in their career as a service professional. Successful incumbents bring passion and refined service standards to restaurant teams, and are driven to assist and educate customers with food and wine choices.
Location Calgary, Alberta  
  
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Responsible for selling wine scripts, conducting staff tastings, doing wine promo introductions.
  2. Train wait staff on wine, by conducting wine tastings/product info sessions.
  3. Make wine suggestions to go with particular types of food, based on knowledge of wine pairing, or suggest wines based on guests' taste preferences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two (2) years experience working as a sommelier, server or wine captain on the floor; WSET education
  • A minimum of two years experience in food and wine pairings and 1 year as a sommelier
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong relationship building skills; work in conjunction with management team assisting with guest issues, the venue, and helping staff
  • Self starter, flexible, and able to work independently
  • Ability to multi task, and change priorities constantly as needed in a fast-paced environment
