Seasonal Cellar Hand (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Rockway Vineyards is a small Estate Winery, located on the Twenty Mile Bench, focused on making high quality terroir driven wines. We produce premium Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Vidal, Pinot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. We are currently recruiting a seasonal cellar hand to join our 2021 Harvest team at Rockway Vineyards starting late August until mid to end November.

 

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in receiving and processing fruit
  • Operation of forklift, crusher/de-stemmer, press, conveyer and pump
  • Preform punch downs, pump-overs
  • Monitor fermentation Brix and temperature
  • Rackings/ transfers
  • Barrel work
  • Removing pomance from tank and presses
  • Accurate record keeping
  • General cleaning and sanitization of winery and winery equipment

 

Requirements:

  • Previous harvest experience an asset
  • Valid forklift license is an asset
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding job; lifting up to 20kg
  • A willingness to work evenings and weekends, in various conditions
  • Positive attitude and have the wiliness to continue learning
  • Must be a Canadian resident or already be residing in the country and legally permitted to work.

Compensation based on experience.
