We are looking for a dynamic, energetic and enthusiastic Retail Wine Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, the Retail Wine Manager will be responsible for overseeing all retail functions and ensuring that every guest receives an exceptional experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing all retail operations including coordination of bookings and tour groups
- Driving sales and assisting in efforts to drive traffic to the winery
- Recruiting, hiring, and training new staff
- Ongoing training and development of new and existing staff, to ensure all guests have a welcoming and educational experience
- Conducting monthly inventory reconciliation
- Creating weekly staff schedules
- Opening and closing store
- Point of Sale operations
- Merchandising
- Attending weekly management meetings
- Processing and preparing online and wholesale wine orders, including overseeing shipment
- Working with Wine Club Manager to recruit new wine club members, retain existing members, and provide members with an exceptional experience
- Executing events
- Working with the Marketing Manager for all required marketing material and social media posts
- Daily housekeeping and general retail duties as required

Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience managing a retail team, in a winery setting
- Formal wine training such as WSET level 2 or equivalent
- Smart Serve Certification
- Experience planning and executing events
- Knowledge of POS systems and strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Word)
- Availability to work weekends, holidays and evenings as required
- A college degree/diploma in hospitality, event management or a related field is preferred
- Willingness to represent the winery at offsite or online events
- Ability to lift 17kg (wine cases)
- Must be a Canadian citizen
- Must have a valid drivers license
