Tasting Bar Associate / Wine Club Assistant (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

We are looking for 1 full time and 1 part time employee.

We are seeking an energetic and friendly candidate for Tasting Bar Associate and an Admin/ Wine Club assistant at Desert Hills Winery, a small, organically farmed winery located in Oliver BC, on the Black Sage Bench. The ideal candidate is professional, enjoys a fast-paced work environment, and has a passion for wine service.

Admin/ Wine Club assistant will be a part time position and a full-time tasting room associate.

 Job Responsibilities:

-  Perform opening and closing duties
- Greet customers in a welcoming manner and provide exceptional customer service from start to finish.
- Conduct a tasting experience for guests, adhering to our standards of hospitality service.
- Operate the POS (Wine Direct) including credit, debit and cash transactions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Event support (break down/set up)
- Keeping the shelves stocked
- Encourage guests to sign up for our Wine Club

Admin Assistant

The ideal candidate will be a natural leader, have high attention to detail, be able to adapt to various tasks in a fast-paced environment, able to multitask, take initiative and be decisive in different situations. Above all else, have a positive and approachable attitude for guests and staff alike. 

- To help with Wine Club on a part time basis as well as to promote and clarify Wine Club in tasting room while doing tastings
- Answering phone calls & e-mail in a friendly and efficient manner, communicate (phone and/or e-mail) with members and non-members for further shipping details
- Wine Club duties – membership retention, call, e-mail, process orders using Wine Direct and shipping software. Be part of the wine club packing and online orders throughout the season
- Responding to and resolving customer inquiries/complaints
- Assisting with monthly inventory counts
- Proficient in Microsoft Word/Exel and Canva

Qualifications:

-  Serve it Right
- Legal age to serve alcohol
- Previous retail or hospitality experience is an asset
- Able to lift 40lbs and work on feet most of the day
- Able to work well in a team environment, and individually
- Previous wine knowledge an asset
- POS / Wine Direct experience an asset
- Punctual, organized and great communication skills
- Able to work weekends and holidays
