Hidden Bench’s three estate vineyards are situated in the heart of the Beamsville Bench sub-appellation on the Niagara Escarpment, approximately 1 hour from Toronto. Our commitment to premium winegrowing and non-interventionist winemaking allows us to consistently produce exclusive, estate grown, certified organic wines that resonate with a sense of place and time. Our team’s detail focus and continual pursuit of excellence from vineyard to bottle are amongst the hallmarks which have differentiated us since our inception in 2003 and will continue to guide us in the future.
Hidden Bench is currently seeking an individual to lead our Hospitality and Direct to Consumer/ Retail team. The ideal candidate will embody the following:
· Have excellent customer service skills, and be able to clearly articulate and embrace our history and the philosophy that makes us who we are.
· Dynamic positive “can-do” attitude with superior interpersonal and communication skills
· Proven sales experience in a hospitality and/or retail environment preferably in the wine or hospitality/event industry.
· Ability to manage and lead a small committed team of full and part time FOH staff.
· Superior work ethic and ongoing commitment to excellence, continual improvement and sales growth.
· Ability and presentation to represent and communicate with passion the HB brand to onsite and on-premise clients as well as industry peers.
· Superior customer service skills with the attitude, desire, and ability to differentiate and enhance our brand at the retail, on-premise and event levels.
· Strong analytical business skills with budgeting skills with detail focus
· Strong computer skills and social media knowledge (interest)
· Event design and management experience
· Resourcefulness with superior organization and problem solving skills
· Ability to commit and thrive in a fast paced, ever changing, owner operated small business environment with a commitment to constant improvement.
· Commitment to be part of and contribute to HB’s ongoing success and growth.
· Desire to relocate and be based in the beautiful Beamsville/Grimsby/ Vineland area.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A post secondary degree with 3+ years experience in the FOH hospitality or wine industry.
2. Superior interpersonal, communication and team building skills
3. Have a love of sales and establishing and developing relationships with clients
4. Demonstrated strong written and sales communication skills
5. Formal wine education and experience (WSET,CMS,CAPS)
6. Fluency in French would be an asset but not a requirement
7. Desire to be part of a team driven and committed to excellence.
8. Drivers licence
9. Physical ability to handle requirements of position
10. Schedule for this position will require weekend work
