Fielding Estate Winery is seeking a personable, enthusiastic and passionate individual for the position of Retail Sales Associate in our tasting room. Candidates must have exceptional customer service skills, a professional and positive demeanor and a passion for wine. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, sharing their love for wine, encouraging sales and creating a memorable experience for all our guests.
This is a part-time position and weekend availability is mandatory. The ideal candidate will be able to work year-round and not only for the summer months.
Job Description
- Greet customers as they enter the winery in a friendly, warm and genuine manner.
- Provide customers with engaging information about Fielding wines, the winery, and Ontario’s wine region.
- Serve samples at the tasting bar and promote wine sales to guests.
- Serve wine by the glass, cheese plates and snacks on our deck and around the property.
- Process payments and sales using our Point of Sale system in an accurate and timely manner.
- Conduct winery tours and private group tastings.
- Assist in opening, closing and cleaning duties throughout the shift.
- Stock shelves with wine and merchandise.
- Answer phones and book tours and tastings when necessary.
- Assist customers with large orders to their car.
- May be required to work the occasional off-site or evening event.
Job Requirements
- Customer service experience is mandatory.
- Must have a passion for the wine industry.
- Previous winery experience is an asset.
- Professional and friendly demeanor and attitude.
- Must be personable and a team player.
- Education in wine, hospitality, tourism or viticulture is an asset.
- Must be able to work weekends.
- Valid Smart Serve Certification.
- Driver’s license and personal transportation.
- High School Diploma.
This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift up to 40 lbs.
