We are looking for a self-motivated, results oriented individual to join our team as Business & Costing Analyst. This role plays an integral part in driving company profitability and balancing supplier commitments, requiring attention to detail and discretion. The Business & Costing Analyst leads business intelligence for pricing and costings for BC, AB, MB and SK. The individual is also responsible for overseeing our internal Cellar database, all price change submissions and liaising with our Finance team in Montreal.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Commercial & Costing Responsibilities
· Execute all pricing activities including FOB deals, blow-outs, Limited Time Offers, Wholesale Price Promotions, stock transfers and permanent price changes
· Manage locally generated A&P and provide monthly updates to Marketing Managers
· Run costing scenarios for Western Canada and make recommendations to marketing. As appropriate review competitive clusters.
· Be the key contact for liquor board pricing departments and submit all price changes
· Lead communication with Montreal finance team including invoicing, A&P, pricing, margins, inventory, and all pricing charge backs
· Maintain an inventory of supplier contracts, Letters of Authorization, and lead new supplier integration in our Cellar systems
· Maintain supplier agreement master file (A&P/commission)
· Manage the Cellar database including listing status
· Leads business intelligence for AWSM margins, identifies issues, makes recommendations to correct and presents to Senior Management quarterly
· Issue rep and sub-agent commissions and monitor rates to ensure company profitability
· Participate in new product pipeline, reviewing pricing, competitive sets, requesting samples and setting up company tastings
2. Liaison with Senior Management for special projects
· Assist Senior Management team with special projects
· Provide quarterly budget updates for specified operations codes along with back-up
· Oversee Office Administrator for Authentic projects
· 3. General Office Support:
· Cross train other office team in key pricing and commission tasks
· Serve as backup for phones
Job Requirements:
· Experience: University degree (BCom preferred)
· Skills: Must have excellent analytical skills. Highly organized, self-motivated and able to work in a matrix structure.
· Knowledge: Excellent proficiency in MS Office is required including experience utilizing pivot tables
· Other: Must have and maintain a valid Canadian Passport.
· Preferred: Knowledge of Western Canada liquor board rules and regulations. French is an asset but not a requirement;
Base salary plus incentive bonus, car allowance and benefits commensurate with experience. Business related expenses are also covered.
