Western Canada Demand Planner
Job Summary:
To manage and oversee all demand planning logistics for Western Canada and assist in the creation and evolution of depletion forecasts. This positon reports to the VP – Western Canada.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inventory Model Oversight

Responsible for regularly reviewing and adjusting all product forecasts in Western Canada and adjusting as needs require due to market changes, volume buys from customers, or other factors as noted below.

Responsible for regularly communicating with BC, Alberta, and MidWest Sales Managers on upcoming team focusses to refresh forecast sales data.

Responsible for regularly communicating with Marketing departments on all seasonal and volume buys, entering the forecasts and sharing with Inventory Manager.

Responsible for regularly communicating with National Chain and Duty Free Manager for new listings and/or promotions in Chain and Duty Free Accounts as expressed by Chain and DF Manager.

Responsible for regularly communicating with Retail Chain Account Director to ensure correct inventory levels and lead times are met to meet sales opportunities as expressed by Retail Chain Manager.

Responsible for reviewing and adjusting all period-specific forecasts on LTO products in Western Canada and communicating changes to Marketing.

Responsible for liaising with MH Demand Planner on monthly basis to review high value items to ensure correct levels are maintained and opening/closing inventories are correct.

Responsible for tracking all MH, Sazerac, and other VAPs to ensure correct order times.

Responsible for communicating required lead times for buys to Western Canada Inventory Manager.

Where applicable, responsible for advising relevant Suppliers of significant changes for production purposes.

Responsible for communicating to BCLDB, AB & Midwest Sales Teams of arrival and availability of new landed products.
Secondary Responsibilities: Commercial Management
- Manage and be responsible for tracking Inter-provincial short-ships of items and replenishing once inventory becomes available again in order to re-capture any lost sales.
- Manage, consolidate, and submit all cross docks for all areas of the portfolio, including BC Whisky Release.
Skills Required
- Ability to use and manipulate Excel and pivot tables to analyze quickly ACD data and BC sales reports. Ability to disseminate in multiple forms. University degree preferred.
- Strong awareness of market conditions to:
- Create and update accurate forecasts for inventory planning;
- Identify category growth opportunities or weakness in the BCLS assortment and capitalize on those opportunities;
- Recognize market capacity for development brands;
