WESTERN CANADA MARKETING & DATA COORDINATOR

 

(CONTRACT POSITION UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2019 )

 

Reports to: Marketing Manager – BC/MB/SK, Dotted line to Marketing Manager, AB

Location: Burnaby, BC

 

Job Summary: 

To manage brand planning and execution for the AWSM portfolio of wines and spirits across Western Canada, observing best industry practices and ethical business methods at all times.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Competitive Analysis & Market Intelligence: 

·     Produce and analyze quarterly marketing reports including varietal ranking, top 10 reports by country of origin, sales flash, etc;

·     Build and review competitive sets by brand and track quarterly activity;

·     Build Western Canada data nuggets for use in sell sheets/quarterly presentations

·     Maintain close regular communication with AWSM’s IT team to find ways to improve data systems and ensure that reporting is accurate and automated where possible;

·     Evaluate marketing opportunities across the West including event sponsorship and advertising

·     Build BCLS Marketing Image decks for BCLS programming applications

·     Liaise with Marketing and Events Coordinator, as well as Sales Coordinator to review price lists and LTO material (summary sheets, bin ends, Exclusives, etc.) and compile quarterly materials (Redbooks)

·     Work alongside Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator to develop social media campaigns for Western Canada 

Supplier Presentations/Brand Planning:

·     Manage Marketing Grid and Quarterly Sales Presentations, ensure that programming is up-to-date and executed on-time

·     Measure and report on quarterly marketing programming to ensure ongoing activity is effective;

·     Responsible to the Provincial Marketing Managers for assistance with marketing, supplier and key account presentations, promotional materials, and sales tools, that meet AWSM standards, are complete and delivered on time;

·     Develop Western Canada quarterly roll-outs in conjunction with Graphic Designer

·     Lead brand planning

·     Supplier presentations – ensuring consistency and ‘story’ is complete

·     Liaise with suppliers as directed to review day-to-day programming and assist in building market updates 

Management/Administrative Responsibilities: 

·       Maintain accurate and current data and systems within the Charton Hobbs Group marketing systems;

·       Create and file all brand collateral on AWSM file system;

·       Manage expenses and any promotional spending within company guidelines; 

Job Requirements:

·       Experience: Enrolled in University degree (BCom preferred) in Marketing or equivalent discipline

·       Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must be highly organized, and display excellent motivation and leadership abilities.  You should be prepared to provide examples of your written work.  Must be able to juggle multiple situations, and be self motivated and able to work independently. 

·       Knowledge:  You must have great PC skills (Windows: Word/Excel). InDesign and Photoshop is an asset for this position.

·       Physical: Must be able to lift and carry 41+ pounds and able to build displays or handle heavy POS material.
