Market Wines is one of Calgary’s most unique and exciting wine stores and we are looking for a Keyholder/Wine Retail Sales Associate to join our team at our new Farmers Market West location! With a strong focus on customer service (actually, we're crazy about it) and an emphasis on staff training (you need to know what you're talking about) we provide our customers with a personal and enjoyable shopping experience.
Our product is unique because we source our wines directly from small, family run wineries from around the globe with a focus on organic and sustainable production. Those are our values and we're sticking to them.
We believe in strong teams with motivated and passionate team members and we are looking to hire an individual to assist with day to day operations of the store, including overseeing the store when the manager is not around (keyholder), as well as someone who can excel in selling wine, beer, and spirits on the floor.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Able to close the store (we are open until 7pm Wednesday through Saturday and 5pm Sunday)
- You have a passion for wine and have the qualifications and experience to back it up. We love WSET but if you have other qualifications and experience, we’re all ears.
- Organized, able to take direction, be coached, and adaptable to change
- Proficient with computers
- Enthusiastic, infectious, efficient, and go-getter attitude.
- Willing to continue your education in the world of wine, beer, and spirits.
- Ready to go the extra mile to enhance customers’ retail experience.
- Keeping up to date on new products and industry trends.
- Constantly staying inspired, generating new ideas for our promotions and creating content for our social media.
- Willing to host private and public tastings
- Value teamwork and are able to effectively participate and motivate others working within a team environment.
- Able to multitask, keep busy, and delegate effectively.
- Previous retail management, merchandising, or restaurant experience will be considered an asset.
- Ability to lift around 28 pounds, bend and move quickly in a fast paced environment.
