TRADE MARKETING MANAGER (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced full-time Trade Marketing Manager to represent some of the world’s most respected wine brands. Reporting directly to the Regional Director – Alberta, you will be responsible for planning and executing all Marketing activities for the Alberta region. Founded in 1982, Select Wine Merchants has become Canada’s Fastest Growing Premium Import Wine Agency.  We pride ourselves on representing only the key wineries from the top wine producing regions, forming a balanced portfolio of Commercial, Premium & Luxury wines.


Job Duties:

  • Liaise with Portfolio Managers to develop & execute Integrated Marketing Plans for all brands promoted in the Alberta market
  • Develop and manage a balanced annual Marketing Budget
  • Plan and coordinate our participation and appearance for all appropriate industry and private events
  • Create sales tools necessary in increasing the efficiency & effectiveness of the Sales Team
  • Manage and grow our local social media platforms while liaising with our Social Media partner to increase our exposure nationally
  • Establish and manage top relationships with Alberta’s most influential media personalities
  • Liaise with Key Account Manager to develop “best-in-class” brand presentations for key buyers
  • Accountable at times for product knowledge and training of the sales team, accounts and consumers inclusive of luxury portfolio
  • Assist the Regional Director in creating and maintaining incredible relationships with suppliers while supporting the regional team with various supplier visits
  • Work with Regional Director to create and present Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Provide support to the Regional Director within the context of their business responsibilities
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skill set:

  • University Degree in Commerce, Marketing or Business Administration
  • 2-3 years of industry work experience (or a combination thereof)
  • A passion for wine and the business of wine
  • Demonstrated knowledge of trade marketing principles, market analysis and plan development
  • Working knowledge of all major social media platforms
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office suite, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and presentation skills
  • Demonstrates leadership, initiative and a drive to win
  • Unparalleled organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to attend industry’s events outside of the regular working hours
  • Up to date ProServe Certification is mandatory


Compensation and benefits commensurate with experience. Business related expenses are also covered.
