Baillie-Grohman Estate Winery is a growing family run company located in the new wine region of the Kootenays. We produce award winning Burgundian and Alsatian style wines. We are looking for someone to join our team with a proven track record in the wine industry. The ideal candidate would be organized, have a positive attitude, accurate, motivated and be physically fit. They should be passionate about wines with knowledge of cool climate varieties.
The Operations Manager is a full time position requiring teamwork and exceptional communication skills.
Responsibilities include:
· Lead Retail Sales management Team – our retail store is opened for 6 months of the year
o Staff – managing, scheduling, recruiting and training,
o Evaluate ongoing sales and strategies,
o Establish sales training policies and procedures,
o Grow Wine Club as integral sales channel,
o Maintain promotional advertising and materials,
o Supporting sales staff.
· Maintain accurate accounting records using a cloud based accounting software in accordance with accrual based accounting methods.
· Wholesale Sales supply and management.
o Inventory Control and maintenance.
o Shipping
o Forecasting sales channels and allocating stock
o Maintenance of sales channels
· Maintain supplies for winery as required.
o Negotiate bottle and capsule bulk purchases as required.
Education: Degree in Business Administration
Experience:
· Must have 5-10 years winery management experience.
· Must have experience dealing with consumers in a wine retail situation.
· Must have experience managing staff on a day-to-day basis.
· Ability to speak French and German would be a desirable asset.
· Must be familiar with social media and managing content.
