About:
The Fine Wine Reserve is Canada’s pre-eminent wine storage facility serving collectors since 2003. Our business is growing and we are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to grow with us. We have an immediate opening for a Wine Cellar Assistant with commercial driving experience.
As lead driver, you will transport our clients’ valuable wine collections to and from their homes and between our two wine warehouses using the company SUV, vans and trucks (up to 26’, 5 Ton). Friendly and sociable, you will liaise directly with our elite clientele and schedule your own appointments and routes. But driving will only take up about one-third (1/3) of your time most weeks. The remainder will be spent assisting the team in the warehouse, shipping and maintenance departments.
The ideal candidate is an outgoing person who has been successfully driving/delivering in the GTA for 3 to 10 years, is very physically fit, and motivated by new challenges and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive delivery vehicle, conducting mainly residential pick-ups and deliveries.
- Provide white glove service, hand carrying 20kg (45lb) cases of wine in and out of our client's homes, up and down stairs, multiple times a day.
- Liaise directly with our elite clientele, planning/scheduling your visits and routes.
- Warehouse assistance, locate, pull and prepare pallets/cases/bottles for pick up and delivery.
- Prepare, track and manage inbound and outbound shipments.
- Load and unload vehicles and trucks.
- Receive, verify, inventory, label and rack incoming cases and pallets of wine.
- Execute customer and team requests, respond to inqueries with speed, accurancy and professionalism.
- Help maintain warehouse, vehicle, tasting room, kitchen and W/C cleaniness.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Class G license with stellar driving record, licensed at least 8 years.
- Commercial driving or delivery experience (any type), minimum 3 years.
- Job is physically strenuous, must have ability to lift 20kg (45lb) boxes repeatedly, on a daily basis.
- Able to work all day in 13C to 17C temperatures.
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be friendly, social, helpful, polite, with positive attitude.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (in English).
- Must have solid personal and professional references.
- Must pass extensive criminal background check, and be bondable.
Type of Position:
Full time employment with three (3) month probationary period. Reporting to Cellar Manger.
Working Hours:
Generally 10AM to 6PM Tuesday through Saturday, but applicant must possess the flexiblity to accommodate other hours and days from time to time. Three (3) weeks paid vacation. No benefits.
$38,000 to $48,000, depending on qualifications
