Sainte Famille Wines is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and avid team player to join our team. The assistant winemaker is integral to the day-to-day operation of our fast paced organization and will perform a wide range of tasks. This is a full time position.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage wine making schedule
- Grape/ Fruit processing
- Perform routine operation of pumps and filters to rack, transfer , and filter wine
- Fermentation management: perform chemical additions, nutrient additions, sampling, punch downs, and sugar
- Laboratory analysis
- Responsibility for sanitation in all areas of cellar operation
- Assist in shipping and receiving in the warehouse
- Assist with cellar inventory
- Assist during harvest and crush
- Be prepared to work over-time , evening and weekends when the season demands it.
Job Requirements
- At least two to five years of cellar experience
- Strong Commitment with attention to detail
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time
- maintain and organize work place
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. This position is physically demanding
