LCBO Retail and On-Premise Sales – Dual Territory Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

This position is responsible for implementing territory sales plans and corresponding sales and brand building strategies within the territory. Through effective public relations networking, and building and maintaining professional and productive business relationships with all key LCBO Retail, On Premise, Retail, Grocery and industry personnel, the successful candidate will maximize sales profits while adhering to coverage and effective distribution protocol.

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

Sales Results

  • Maximize market share in LCBO & Grocery accounts to assist in achieving provincial revenue & profit growth targets.
  • Drive growth and build brand awareness in On Premise channel thorough increased distribution - securing new accounts, new listings and implementing promotional programs.
  • Ensure volume, distribution, coverage, promotion, merchandising and public relations tactics, outlined by sales leadership are effectively implemented and executed across assigned account base.


  • Operate territory within approved expense budget.
  • Knowledgeable with respect to APL expense policies regarding travel, entertainment, account coverage. The ability to exercise judgment in terms of obtaining prior approval before committing Company. (I.e. time, effort, and expense).
  • Timely and thorough completion of prescribed summaries for submission to District Sales Manager.

Business Development

  • Maintain and develop professional, productive partnership relationships with key On Premise customers, industry professionals, LCBO Stores/Grocery and Regional decision-makers to support overall sales and marketing strategies, organizational leadership, project management and competitive product positioning.
  • Monitor, communicate and recommend solutions to management regarding competitor activities, business developments, market/product opportunities.
  • Develop new business opportunities through sound PR activities, superior customer service and professional conduct.


  • Ensure prompt and proper handling of all customer inquiries, complaints and concerns.
  • Active, knowledgeable participation in departmental and inter-departmental meetings.
  • Proactively communicate sales policies to customers.

Security/Health & Safety

  • Ensure company car, business equipment, sales aids, miscellaneous allowances, and service stock issued are being used in accordance with company policy.
  • Promoting a health & safety culture by ensuring a safe and healthy work environment through effective operation of the Health and Safety program, joint H&S committee (if applicable) and compliance with EH&S regulations.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:

  • University /College diploma or equivalent experience
  • Wine education (up to WSET Level III) preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with a range of personalities
  • Exemplary leadership and customer service; communication, product knowledge, problem solving, attention to detail
  • Ability to set and stick to a sales plan, with the ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes in circumstances
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office applications such as Word, Outlook, Explorer and Excel
  • Maintenance of privileged and confidential information relating to company sales
  • Flexible outside regular business hours
