Domaine de Grand Pré is at the forefront of Nova Scotia's artisanal wine industry. With nearly 50 acres planted in the Gaspereau and Annapolis Valley, we grow traditional hybrid varieties as well as viniferas. Situated adjacent to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Grand Pré, our vineyards and winery are within convenient distance of Wolfville. Domaine de Grand Pré seeks an energetic and dynamic Vineyard Manager with a stong background in viticulture for the beginning of the 2020 growing season.

 

Responsibilities include:

Plan, schedule and manage all vineyard operations and ground crew with a hands-on approach and in an efficient and safe manner

Optimizing vineyard performance by maximizing fruit quality and maintaining high level of vine health

Equipment operations & general maintenance

Working with management and cellar team to make viticultural desicions that reflect production needs

Coordinate with research entities on ongoing and potential new research projects

Work with suppliers and manage pricing and ordering of supplies, materials and equipment

Record keeping 

 

Requirements include:

Degree in Viticulture and a minimum of 5 years of experience in this field

Good organizational, communication and leadership skills

Strong tractor and equipment operation skills

Valid Canadian Driver's License and Pesticide Applicator Certification 

 

Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience, and can include health plan and company cell phone
