Domaine de Grand Pré is the oldest Farm Winery in Atlantic Canada and has been under the current ownership since 1994. It is a family run business located in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley with an annual production of 10,000 cases. The winery is now searching for a highly motivated, independent, full-time Winemaker responsible for the successful execution of the winemaking strategy.

 

 

 

Responsibilities/Duties:

 

Hands-on management of day-to-day winemaking tasks
Grape quality assessment and in-house lab analysis
Establish and execute annual production schedule including inventory management
Record keeping as required and ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial standards and regulations 
Working with management and viticulturist to ensure quality objectives and production goals
Represent the winery at on-site and off-site tasting events as needed
Operate & maintain equipment in a safe manner and ensure safe work environment for all team members

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Oenology
Minimum 5 years of winemaking experience in a leading position
Experience in sparkling wine production
Excellent verbal and written communications skills & organizational skills
Must have Canadian citizenship/residency or a valid Canadian work permit
Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
Valid Canadian driver’s license

 

 

Compensation Package will be according to experience
