Renaissance Wine Merchants Ltd. is a diversified wine agency specializing in premium import and domestic wine/spirits. Operating across Western Canada, our key markets include British Columbia and Alberta.
We currently have an opening for a full time Sales Representative, a dedicated, dynamic, detailed-oriented team player who possesses strong sales & presentation skills to service the Greater Vancouver/Fraser Valley area. The ideal candidate must thrive in a collaborative working environment with a strong entrepreneurial influence and a can do attitude.
Summary of Position: to carry out the company sales and activity plan and to further develop an established territory. In addition, to find and prospect new customers, developing new business.
Essential Functions:
Executing the company sales and activity plan in the territory
Develop clear, weekly and monthly activity plans to meet company goals.
Record and document all activity in the marketplace in accordance with company tracking systems.
2. In-field Service
1. To provide superior value added customer service throughout the prospective territory.
2. Communicate to and from customers, all manner of information up and down and across the responsibility chain.
3. Communicate regularly empirical reality taking place in the territory.
4. Regularly share information with supervisor concerning competitor activity.

1. Adapt schedule to sync territory activity and sales activities to supplier visits as outlined periodically by the company.
2. Note and share information gained from suppliers during visits to our markets via in market reports.
5. Tastings, meetings and administration
1. This role requires to be present at a certain number of sales meetings, huddles, gatherings, tastings and events. Full participation is expected in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Executing monthly activity and brand building plans.
Such as: features, by-the-glass & by-the-bottle placements
distribution, displays, shelf placement, fridge placement
Work with Sales Manager to maximize performance in case, activity, brand program goals.
grow a specific and defined territory in sales; both cases and dollars
servicing accounts at the highest level
reporting of all activities using company tracking systems
Efficient territory coverage
visit accounts with consistency to develop our portfolio
ensure coverage of a complete list of accounts
Prospecting
identify opportunities to establish new business by prospecting and dynamic territory management
Managing budgets
staying within spending guidelines on advertising and promotional (A&P) items
Market intelligence
provide feedback on competitive activity; on trends and tendencies from the trade
Teamwork
supporting colleagues in sales and admin to perform at optimal level
Receive and communicate news up and down the responsibility chain
Day to day handling of all questions, concerns, complaints from customers and suppliers.
Communicating inventory issues
notifying management of changes, positive or negative surrounding inventory issues, i.e. a key new placement or loss of a high volume placement
Conducting efficient market visits with suppliers as needed
planning itineraries, following up on tasting activities

occasional attendance at company events as deemed necessary by management

Preferred education and experience:
Undergraduate degree with any numbers of additional courses or related studies an advantage. Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years direct experience with a sales and or merchandising background. Candidates should show experience in packaged goods sales with a proven ability to grow and manage a large portfolio of diverse items. An interest in wine is an asset.
