Position:
Together this group of Companies are seeking an energetic and qualified individual to join our team as the Hospitality Manager. The successful candidate will conduct and supervise all activities related to Tasting Room including hiring, training, managing, and scheduling all seasonal staff. You will be instrumental in developing hospitality policies and procedures, to ensure our guests receive an exemplary experience at all touch points. The candidate will develop budgets and monitor sales to ensure budgets are achieved. You will work closely with the wine club and events manager, and marketing manager in the planning and execution of all events and to ensure that the staff achieve targets for sales growth and provide ultimate experiences. e-commerce sales and order fulfillment. The candidate must be versatile, flexible, have an enthusiastic demeanor and be able to demonstrate and lead staff toward an alliance with our corporate values of quality and exceptional customer experience. You will provide ongoing support and commitment to growth in all departments and have a willingness to “pitch-in” in a constantly changing seasonal environment.
Responsibilities
- Planning and execution of tasting room policies and procedures
- Lead by example by following and enforcing policies and procedures with tasting room staff
- Recruit, hire, train, coach and manage Tasting Room staff to maximize performance and guest experience
- Create a positive, rewarding, fun and growth-oriented environment for the entire hospitality team
- Plan with Wine Club Manager to develop strategies for growth within the team, executing member events and ensuring that members and are provided a peak experience at all touch points
- Work with and support Events Manager to ensure events are executed with team as planned
- Collaborate with Digital Marketing Manager to ensure proper reflection of brand, events and customer experiences and to drive traffic to the Tasting Room
- Ensure staff operate according to Privato and WCC standards of professionalism, hospitality, customer service and sales
- Ensure facilities are properly maintained and orderly to the highest of standards and appeal to our guests
- Ensure that we provide a world class wine experience that includes the highest level of service, and a warm, engaging and memorable experience to all guests.
- Planning, budgeting and reporting of sales, labour and other key performance indicators to management
- Responsible for month-end wine inventory and control measures
- Develop and oversee all food and beverage standards including but not limited to management of inventory, menus and brochures, merchandise and supplies needed for the tasting room.
- Perform outbound calls and emails to follow up on guest’s visits and sales leads
- Learn and operate Wine Direct POS and e-commerce systems efficiently and accurately
- Take initiative and execute improvements in the tasting room as needed
- Manage reservations using our online reservation system, answering phone calls and responding to messages, writing emails as needed.
- Managing tour group reservations
- Ensure shift runs smooth and manage all unforeseen incidents in a professional manner.
- Develop COVID-19 and all other health and safety protocols and procedures and ensure they are being adhered to by staff and guests
- Regularly host the public, trade, and media in the Tasting Room
Qualifications and Experience
- Serving It Right Certified
- 5 years managing staff in customer service and sales in food and beverage or comparable industry.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Point of Sale Experience
- Passionate about offering high levels of customer service
- Excellent core computer skills, especially MS Office Suite
- Ability to quickly master new e-commerce tools, or solid competency using industry standards (WineDirect)
- Project a polished and professional outward image in both dress and manners
- Comfortable presenting in front of large groups
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing demands in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to life 23kg (50lbs) throughout the day
- Required to work extended hours, including weekends and some evenings during high season.
- 19+ years of age & a valid BC Driver’s License
