Tasting Room Associate (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Monte Creek Ranch Winery is heading into its fourth season. We are looking for friendly, outgoing, effective communicators, who are passionate about wine. People who enjoy informing, entertaining, assisting guests with tastings, serving food, and wine and, telling our story in a tour setting. 

 

 

 Job Duties

  • Effectively greet customers and create a memorable experience for each person in the tasting room
  • Provide knowledgeable tastings to all guests
  • Using a cash till and debit/credit machine to process transactions
  • Assist guests in selecting wines and helping them carry items to vehicle
  • Monitor tasting room at all times for theft and customer service need
  •  Seating guest at designated tables
  •  Clearing and setting tables
  •  Assisting with serving food
  •  Helping kitchen washing dishes
  •  Restocking the tasting room
  •  Assist with general cleaning duties
  • Taking food and beverage orders
  • Processing payments
  • Clearing tables and resetting
  • Providing exceptional food & wine service
  • Use a cash till and debit/credit machine to process transactions
  • Monitor tasting room at all times for theft and customer service needs
  • Provide wine and food service for other events as needed

 

Qualifications

 

  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in B.C.
  • Current BC Serving it Right Certificate
  • Interested in the BC wines and hospitality
  • Experience with Profitek (P.O.S.) an asset
  • Our tasting room in open 7-days a week and successful candidates must be available to work all shifts days/evenings including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position including repetitive lifting up to 50lbs
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Food Safe and First Aid an asset
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
