Sandhill Winery is located beside our Wayne Gretzky Estate Winery and Tap Room at Wayne Gretzky Estate. Both our retail stores and pub offer wine tastings of a large selection of wines and property spirits including award-winning Sandhill single vineyard wines and many rare Small Lots - all of which you can taste year-round.  Located in the heart of downtown Kelowna and at BC's oldest winery location, the shop also boasts a selection of Sandhill and Gretzky branded clothing, house wares, home decor, cookbooks, and local artisan treats to suit every budget and taste.

We are seeking extraordinary, enthusiastic Event & Marketing Coordinator to join our Sandhill & Wayne Gretzky Estate Winery team.  Reporting into the Estate Manager, this role will provide leadership and support in the execution of all private, on-site, and off-site events and programs  When not  focused on events, this role will be responsible for creating memorable guest experiences and for performing all selling and retail functions within the retail boutique

 

We are looking for a teammate with:

  • University degree/diploma in Public Relations/Communications or Special Events Management; post-secondary wine /spirits education an asset
  • Special events experience and product knowledge would be an asset
  • Experience working with computer-based point of sale systems and handling cash desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; with a focus on Word and Excel
  • A “Can Do” attitude and enjoy working under pressure
  • An understanding of how to provide best-in-class service for guests
  • Ability to be a brand ambassador; you love to entertain others in a fun and engaging way
  • Smart Serve/Serving it Right Certification 

 

The teammate will be accountable for:

  • Working with and assisting the Estate Manager with private, on-site, and off-site events and programs such as development of a communication strategy;  coordination, management and monitoring events, working with external stakeholders and various offsite partners, as well other related duties to event planning and execution:
  • Maximizes revenues per guest transaction (including up-selling) via a solid understanding of property wines / property spirits / accessories / experiences / Wine Club membership benefits / events and all Estate Wine Group properties
  • Facilitates guided tour and tasting experiences for property guests
  • Assists with processing guest sales (via POS system) and with Guest Relations bookings/reservations (via internal reservations systems) as required
  • Understands and adheres to retail inventory control procedures (receiving, ordering, promotions, stocking, experience write-offs); participates in monthly retail inventory process
  • Follows safe work procedures/practices; reports any unsafe working conditions/hazards to assigned Manager on Duty

 

***Incumbents for these roles must be a minimum of 19 years of age and in possession of a valid “Serve it Right” certification

****Criminal Record Check as per the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) requirement 12.7

 valid Work VISA to work in Canada
