Exciting opportunity to gain experience in the BC wine industry with Wine Growers British Columbia.

Wine Growers British Columbia (formally British Columbia Wine Institute) is currently looking for a talented individual to join our team as Marketing Manager to be responsible for developing and delivering trade and consumer marketing programs and providing marketing support for all Wines of British Columbia marketing and event initiatives. This is a contract maternity leave position starting April 1, 2021 and based in Kelowna, British Columbia. The Marketing Manager will report to the Marketing Director working cross functionally with the marketing and communications teams. In compliance with the government’s continued efforts to minimize the risk and spread of the COVID-19 virus, the successful candidate may be required to work from home.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for the development, production and implementation of marketing programs including advertising campaigns, point-of-sale and graphic materials and collateral.

• Manage marketing budgets, timelines, suppliers, etc. as it relates to marketing programs and campaigns.

• Maintain brand continuity throughout all marketing initiatives, materials and platforms.

• Provide marketing support for communication and event initiatives as required.

• Manage website updates as required for marketing programs and campaigns, maintaining website brand continuity, design layout and navigation.

• Oversee digital requirements of programming to support marketing initiatives including Wines of BC Explorer app and Salesforce/Marketing Cloud.

• Create final reports that evaluate the impact of each marketing program/campaign including an overview, analytics and achievements to stated objectives.

• Oversee and coordinate video production and postproduction.

• Coordinate trade familiarization winery tours for trade when appropriate.

• Oversee implementation of Wines of British Columbia Wine Ambassador Programs as needed.

Additional duties when required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years’ experience in a marketing management role.

• Degree in marketing or related field.

• Highly organized and efficient, able to adapt to change and manage multiple priority tasks with tight deadlines and limited supervision.

• Strong problem-solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking.

• Energetic, people-oriented and a team contributor with a professional demeanor.

• Proven experience in the development and execution of retail advertising, point-of-sale and promotional campaigns, including new and traditional mediums. Wine industry-related marketing, communication and digital experience an asset.

• Experience with social media distribution, listening channels and Google ads.

• Familiar with CrowdRiff, Hootsuite, Klear and other marketing platforms.

• Solid understanding of office procedures, including experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams).

• Experience with digital platforms such as Google Analytics, Survey Monkey, WebinarJam, Flickr and SmugMug.

• Experience with Adobe, SalesForce and Marketing Cloud programs an asset.

• Physically able to perform duties listed above, including lifting or moving heavy objects as needed.

• Travel at the expense of Wine Growers British Columbia may be required from time to time when safe and in compliance with the government’s continued efforts to minimize the risk and spread of the COVID-19 virus.
