A Unique Opportunity
The Assistant Restaurant manager is responsible for building the business, ensuring the smooth operational running of the venue as well as the management and development of your team. The Assistant Restaurant Manager must be able to work effectively alongside the General Manager of the Winery. Outstanding guest service will be at the heart of what you do every day, so it's important that you share our beliefs and standards for excellence.
The life of our Assistant Restaurant Manager:
- Lead and motivate service team to deliver gracious, professional guest service
- Provide leadership and direction to service staff on the floor in a consistent and respectful manner to ensure efficiency and execution of service standards at all times
- Ensure CedarCreek culture, core values and guiding principles are effectively communicated and instilled within the Service Team
- Aid the manager in delegating and auditing the work of service employees to achieve desired guest service and financial targets
- Ensure ongoing constructive and documented feedback is given to Terrace service staff to allow for continuous improvement in their roles. Take corrective action where necessary to resolve any performance issues
- Provide daily briefing with the Terrace Chef on duty to review special events (VIPs, daily features, etc.)
- Champion a safe and healthy work environment for employees, through eliminating hazards, training employees and promoting safety awareness.
- Anticipate guest needs and deliver unparalleled guest service, take proactive steps to follow up on guest requests and ensure 100% guest satisfaction is delivered
- Work with Terrace Chef and Host/Hostess Team to manage and maintain Terrace OpenTable reservations
- Update and print Point of Sale & OpenTable reports and communicate all menu changes to leadership, service and winery staff
Do you have what it takes?
- 5 years of food and beverage service experience
- 2 years management in a fine dining environment
- Strong BC wine product knowledge, WSET Level 2 preferred
- Intermediate wine sales/service skills and fine dining service skills
- Experience working with electronic reservation booking system (e.g. OpenTable)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, & Excel)
- Current Food Safe Level 1 Certification
- Current Serving It Right Certification, must be of legal age to serve alcohol in B.C.
- Passion for fine dining and creating memorable dining experiences
