We are seeking extraordinary, enthusiastic Harvest Interns to join our Gray Monk Winery team for the Harvest period. Perched above Okanagan Lake with stunning panoramic views of mountains, vineyards and the lake, Gray Monk Estate Winery offers guests a true taste, or sip, of the Okanagan lifestyle. With a bustling wine boutique, a full-service banquet facility and a world-class restaurant, the winery is equipped to host guests for all occasions. Gray Monk Estate is comprised of 25 acres of lush vineyards overlooking Okanagan Lake, in addition to premium grapes sourced throughout the Okanagan Valley, to produce some of the world's finest wines.


Reporting into the Cellar Master, as the Harvest Intern you will be working as part of the team assisting and supporting the Cellarmaster with general winery work including wine movements, wine treatments, barrel work and sanitation of tanks, hoses, pipelines and general cleaning.

We are looking for teammates with:

  • Winemaking or viticulture qualification, or related science qualifications, and/or previous harvest or wine industry experience
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and with a team, in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on quality, accuracy and timeliness
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, work effectively in team/crew environment, adherence to all safety regulations, operating procedures and company policies
  • Ability to prioritize and able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and willingness to work flexible hours when needed
  • Forklift driving certification an asset
  • Understanding current COVID 19 Protocol as well compliance with work safe practices
  • Foreign applicants must have appropriate VISA

These teammates will be accountable for:

  • Operating all equipment used in the processing of grapes, juice, and wine during harvest
  • Sorting of grapes, operating presses and destemmer,
  • Making additions to juice and wine, as well transferring juice and wine volumes using a variety of pumps and hoses
  • Barrel work, including preparing barrels, and filling and racking juice and wine from barrel
  • Cleaning and sanitation of tanks, barrels, processing equipment, and the winery
  • Performing red cap management techniques such as pump overs, and punch downs
  • Following written and/or oral procedures and policies, reporting any deviations
  • Reading, understanding, and completing paperwork efficiently and accurately
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environmentas well following current WorkSafe regulations

Must have a valid Work VISA to work in Canada
