Our team is looking to fill the full-time permanent position of Assistant Winery Retail Manager. This is a great opportunity for a well-rounded service leader to take the next steps in their hospitality career by directly working with the management team to support the operation of running a successful tasting room. We are looking for someone to lead and execute the following:
- In-store events including private functions, specialty tasting events, etc.
- Ensure staff is well informed about upcoming events via ongoing communications and internal event info/set up sheets
- Manage staff and on-site event inventories (food, wine, stemware, rentals)
- Greet visitors with a sincere and welcoming attitude and provide consistent, first-class customer service throughout their entire visit
- Conduct winery tastings & tours with energy and enthusiasm
- Positively and professionally handle customer inquiries and concerns in a timely manner
- Ensure daily tidiness of the overall boutique, including outside common areas
- Monitor store inventory, ensuring that the movement of all stock is being tracked accurately and that the store is always at optimum stock levels, through regular replenishment of wine and non-wine items
- Participate in inventory counts; generate skus/labels for all products for scanning and inventory tracking
- Ensure that boutique merchandising is always at its best – signage, displays
Requirements
- 3-5 years experience in retail and/or customer service; wine industry experience is an asset
- Supervisory or management experience in retail an asset
- Serving it Right certificate
- Passionate about wine and food
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds
- Access to reliable transportation
- This role requires long periods of standing and walking
