Fort Berens Estate Winery in Lilloet, British Columbia is a small winery dedicated to producing premium wines from uniquely situated vineyards. Lying next to the fraser river and between two large mountain ranges, we have similar growing conditions to the Okanagen, but with cooler nights. We are a small passionate and hard working team producing 10 000 cases (200 tons) of wine from Pinot Gris, Pnot noir, Riesling, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Gruner Veltliner
We are searching for an enthusiastic, hard working Harvest Intern, to work alongside the winemaker and Assistant winemaker, from September to November. You will be working closely with the winemaking team in all aspects of the winemaking process including: Vineyard work, grape receival and processing, inoculations, filtering, pump-overs, nutrient control, barrel work, forklift operation, tasting and cleaning. We are looking for someone with:
- A qualification in Viticulture/Oenology
- Previous harvest experience
- Forklift experience
- Ability to multitask and be organised
- Be practical and a problem solver
- Work long hours and weekends
- Be able to lift 22kg or more on a daily basis
- Be fluent in the English language
