Key Account Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

  • Responsible for selling products and services to a select group of major national and regional On Premise customers. Using extensive selling and customer relationship skills, strong product knowledge and account management principles, manage accounts and develop new customer opportunities with a focus on sales volume and net profit growth.
  • Effectively manages the strategic development and ongoing activities of key business relationships. Ongoing development of new customer relationships with numerous touch points within organization (marketing/operations/training/GM)
  • Full management of customer goals and budgets, ensuring both volume and net profit goals are overachieved. Proactively managing business results and reacting to customer shortfalls/opportunities.
  • Proactively managing all customer and personal T&E budgets
  • Seek out and develop new major strategic account opportunities.
  • Develop/present and execute fact-based sales presentations to sell programs and products into new and existing targeted accounts to achieve volume and net profit goals.
  • Develop a fully collaborative relationship with the OP customer trade marketing resource, allowing for both customer and internal strategic goals to be achieved.
  • Work closely with strategic insights team to develop fact based insights recommendations/solutions that bring unique value to all accounts.
  • Work closely with marketing department on portfolio distribution/management and specific customer trail and exposure opportunities.
  • Work closely with supply chain (nationally) to ensure accuracy of all forecast and customer demand.
  • Work closely with Academy of Wine team to leverage wine education with all customers.
  • Ongoing analysis of competitor focus and activity and develop plans to proactively counteract.   
  • Ongoing coaching and development of sales associate – ensure being deployed to maximize opportunities.
  • Creatively develop new method’s to help customers market and sell more wine.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • University Degree or post secondary education or related experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a Key Account Management role
  • Financial skill set for budget management
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong presentation & proven leadership skills
  • High level of initiative and creativity
  • Adaptable to a changing work environment and portfolio
  • Works well both independently and as part of team
  • Proven track record of building lasting relationships with key customers
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Sales ability/persuasiveness that translates to sales (“closing”)
  • Experience in building and maintaining business partnerships
  • Results oriented


  • Must be able sit and/or stand for long periods of time, and work on a computer for extended periods. 
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs regularly.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
