Contract Administrator for the Naramata Bench Wineries Association (Part-Time)
The Naramata Bench Wineries Association (NBWA) is a membership organization, seeking a part-time administrator to coordinate the volunteer board of directors and to oversee the implementation of the organization's five-year strategic plan (2022-2027). Historically, the NBWA has led the BC wine industry in establishing a regional identity; now the association is mobilizing to promote the reinvigorated brand of the Naramata Bench region, through a progressive five-year marketing plan.
Experience & Skills:
The contract will be awarded to an administrator with strong organization skills, drive to mobilize a forward-thinking strategic plan, previous experience working with non-for-profit organizations and experience in bookkeeping and report writing. Ideally, the contractor will have connections to the Naramata Bench and/or the BC wine industry. The contractor does not need to be located on the Naramata Bench but should be able to travel monthly for meetings with the board of directors and partners.
Deliverables:
1. Board coordination: facilitate monthly meetings for the NBWA board of directors, including preparation of agenda and materials, and the writing and distribution of minutes.
2. Plan implementation: oversee the implementation of the NBWA's five year strategic plan and marketing plans (to be completed by project partners in early 2022) by other contractors and partner organizations, including sourcing other contractors or organizations to complete budgeted activities, supporting funding applications, ensuring deliverables are met by other contractors/organizations, and coordinating payments.
3. Financial administration: collect membership fees, facilitate payments to projects and contractors, keep books in Quickbooks, provide monthly financial reports to the board of directors, prepare annual budgets in coordination with the board and partners, and write annual membership/public reports.
4. Community coordination: organize an annual general meeting as a membership reporting and community engagement event, send a monthly newsletter to the association membership with regional branding, learning and marketing opportunities, and news from partner organizations.
Term:
This administrator contract is for a one-year term November 15, 2021, to October 31, 2022. This contract will be renewable based on the same deliverables for two additional years, October 1-31, at which point it will be put out for public tender, at the latest on October 31, 2024.
To Apply:
Please email a letter of interest and résumé to [email protected] by October 31, 2021.
Compensation:
The contract will be awarded for $1,700 per month (+GST if applicable), for 12 months. All office, software and contractor travel expenses associated with the completion of the contract deliverables are the responsibility of the contractor. The contractor and NBWA may agree to additional work beyond the deliverables in this contract, at the rate of $32.50/hr (+GST if applicable).
