Purchasing and Inventory Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Reif Estate Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake is one of Canada’s founding family VQA estate wineries located in the heart of wine country. This growing winery is seeking to employ an energetic and organized individual to efficiently handle the company’s products and supplies that are critical for the attainment of business goals. Successful individuals will be reliable and professional with excellent record keeping abilities. They will possess great attention to detail and have a business mindset.

The Purchasing/Inventory Control Manager will oversee and execute all the purchasing and inventory business functions and establish processes and procedures for efficient procurement and inventory management. Overall responsibilities will include optimization of inventory control procedures using an integrated Point of Sale System. Individuals will also be responsible for inspecting and counting the levels of business supplies and packaging material to identify shortages and ensuring product stock is adequate for all distribution channels.

Daily Duties Include:

·         Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory

·         Inventory counts as required

·         Orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus

·         Analyze data to anticipate future needs

·         Sourcing products and packaging

·         Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effectiveness and maintain relationships

·         Collaborate with other team members to ensure business goals are met

·         Report to upper management on stock levels, issues etc.

·         Perform other duties and projects as assigned

EDUCATION, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

·         A post-secondary degree in Business, Logistics or a related field.

·         Required experience: Inventory Control and/or Purchasing: Minimum 2 years

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

·         Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.

·         Ability to work efficiently under stress and time pressures.
