PRODUCTION PLANNING
- Attend Daily production and Cellar Work Planning meeting
- Updates team on cellar boards in progress
- Winemaking Roadmaps - Plan on boards and provide to Cellarmen the WT's
- Schedule incoming and shipping tankers/containers
- Issue WT and BOL's; NPD's
- Coordinate sample shipments to Marketing if requested
- RM's - Segregate ingredient and oak demands for harvest as calculated by winemakers, evaluate against current inventory and request PO's to be issued for the required differences;
- Issue SNCR
- Wine System -Manage to 100% accuracy the tiering of VQA and domestic wines
- Post processing WT's if requested by Winemaker
QUALITY
- Monitoring & Actions - Responsible with SO2 adjustments following winemakers targets
- Analysis - Manage Top Sampling program - coordinate sampling with Plant Cleaner
- Review top sampling results for all wines and advise the winemaker responsible if any VA, unhealthy storage conditions or low SO2 levels are observed
- Tastings - Setup imports tasting for the week & Taste imported wines for the week; maintain QC/NP report for imports
- Plan on boards and request samples to be taken for monthly tastings
- Taste incoming bulk wines evaluate chemistry for unloading approval - approve unloading
- Plan vintage cleaner / sampler board samples to be taken for monthly tastings
- Samples management within tasting room
- VQA Approvals - Assist winemakers in sample preparation
- GMP - review, Assess and prioritize GMP for NFC Cellar
PROCESSING FOR BOTTLING
- Trial Blends - Assist in planning of processing requirements, Issue work tickets for processing
- Bottling Approvals - Address BA issues on afternoon shift when Winemaker not present
- Issue additions
- Taste for BA
- Collect reference samples from library
CELLAR ACTIVITIES
- Cellar work - Schedule and issue daily boards to Cellarmen based on WT's from winemakers
- Communicate schedule and follow-ups to larger Winemarker or Ops teams
- Manage finished work tickets and ensure each job is complete
- In absence of Cellar Supervisor manage and issue PO for lees removal pumping services
COMPLIANCE
- Ontario Regulations- Ensure adherence to VQA regulations and AGCO Wine Content and Labeling Act
- Submit LCBO applications for incoming bulk
- Federal Regulations - Ensure adherence to Food and Drug act

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Requires work in Shifts
- Longer working hours during harvest and business requirements.
- Almost continuously sitting in the same position or standing/ walking.
- Frequent requirement to lift / handle material or equipment of moderate weight.
- Occasional exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort.
- Regular need to give close attention, either hearing or seeing, to what is happening.
- Work and environment are very repetitious / unchanging.
- There is noticeable pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.
- Unpleasant contacts and/or concern about unpleasant situations are probable.
EXPERIENCE
- 2 years winery cellar / vineyard experience
